2/9 Pewaukee Ice Dive w/o Petey ...so sad

Writer: SesoSeso

Paul, Jeff, Roger and John headed out about 9:30 (no Pete so we played hooky on start time, it is so nice to be able to sleep in a bit more :) )

As you can see, nobody out there, might have been the slight mishap the over weekend with the Ice boat going in, details at tonight's dive meeting from Jeff. Guess why the cones are out.

Jeff wanted to see how slippery the ice was, then I think he dropped a contact.

Not sure putting that contact in on the ice was the best spot, but jeff undresses on the ice so I guess he is comfortable with that

Different perspective from down below, but the 13' of ice didn't stop seeing people on the top. Jeff was able to follow Paul and Roger all the way out 240' from hole and still see their tanks down below.
Water was 36 degrees and we found a few embossed bottles, anchors and other items of interest. Visibility was actually better than prior week with about 20 feet of vis.

Paul found a really nice blue medicine bottle while he was off with Roger and they both remained dry! Paul told us that normally his little Buddy Tom would have swooped in to grab this beauty for Laura.

I'm not sure that this drone is going to fly again, but when Jeff found it and picked it up the blades were spinning in the water below. John saw it first, but Jeff really put a burst of speed on to get it.

The hole gizmo gadget worked again this week, which was cut down a few inches shorter to not interfere with the rope tending. We even had an Ice boat visitor and Ice surfer the while the boys were under water and John was tending.

A good meal was supplied by Roger, but Jeff thought it was a bit hot, check his head.

Definitely not from the heat in the trailer, what did he put in those weenies & beans?

On the way back we could hear and see the ice cracking in front of the ATV, always makes me nervous.
A good day for all, but I'm still saying Petey missed us having to dive all alone in Mexico.
